Delete your Soulfia account
This page explains how to delete your account in Soulfia (also styled SOULFIA), the AI guided meditation app developed by Nicholas Robinson, and what happens to your data.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. If you subscribed to Premium, cancel it first in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or you will keep being billed. On iPhone: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
Option 1: Delete your account in the app
- Open Soulfia and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap the Profile tab, then Settings, then Delete account (or Account).
- Under Delete account, tap Delete account. The app lists what will be deleted and reminds you to cancel any subscription. You can tap Manage subscription to do that first.
- Tap Delete my account.
- A confirmation asks “Delete your account permanently?”. Tap Delete to confirm.
- On iPhone, if your account uses Sign in with Apple, you are asked to confirm with Apple. This lets us revoke Soulfia’s access to your Apple ID. Cancelling this step cancels the deletion.
Your account is deleted within a few seconds and you are signed out. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you signed in with Apple and the app tells you Apple could not be disconnected automatically, you can remove Soulfia yourself: on iPhone, go to Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple, choose Soulfia and tap Delete. Or sign in at account.apple.com and go to Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple.
Option 2: Ask us by email (no app needed)
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, email roycerobins95@gmail.com from the email address on your Soulfia account with the subject “Delete my Soulfia account”.
- If you used Sign in with Apple with “Hide My Email”, your account email is an Apple relay address, so include it in your message. You can find it on iPhone in Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple > Soulfia (it ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com). We will confirm the request by writing to that relay address, which forwards to you.
- If you cannot find your account email, tell us the display name shown in the app or the titles of meditations you published, and we will help you identify the account.
- We may ask you to confirm the request before we act on it, to protect your account.
- We will delete your account and data in the same way as the in-app option, and email you when it is done, within 30 days of confirming your request.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently delete:
- Your account and sign-in details: your email address, password, linked Apple or Google sign-in, and all sign-in sessions.
- Your profile: display name and avatar.
- All of your meditations, including ones you published to Explore: your intake answers, the generated scripts, titles and introductions, and their audio files. Published meditations disappear from Explore.
- Your listening history, along with other listeners’ play records for your meditations.
- Your subscription status record in our database.
- Your safety and AI settings: your AI permission record, the reports you made, and the creators you hid. Reports other people made about your meditations, and other people’s choices to hide you, are deleted too.
- Push notification tokens for all of your devices, so notifications stop at once.
We also ask our providers to remove your data:
- RevenueCat (our subscription management provider): we ask RevenueCat to delete your customer record. If that request fails, your account is still deleted, but the record may stay at RevenueCat. Email roycerobins95@gmail.com and we will delete it.
- Sign in with Apple: when you confirm with Apple during in-app deletion on iPhone, we ask Apple to revoke Soulfia’s access to your Apple ID. If that does not work, the app tells you, and you can remove Soulfia yourself as described above.
On the device you used, the app also clears your sign-in session and the account data it kept locally. You can then uninstall the app.
What is kept, and for how long
- Your store subscription is not affected. It keeps renewing until you cancel it with Apple or Google.
- Purchase records: Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep records of store transactions under their own policies and legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.
- Backups: copies of deleted data may remain in our hosting provider’s automatic database backups for up to 7 days.
- Server logs and sign-in audit records: our server logs can contain your account ID, IP address and device type. Our sign-in system also keeps an audit record of account events, such as sign-ins, password resets and the deletion itself, with your email address or account ID, IP address and the time. We keep both for up to 7 days for security and to fix problems, then they are deleted.
- Crash reports: crash reports and app-session records (Sentry) are linked to your account ID, not your name or email. They are not removed when you delete your account, and are deleted automatically after 90 days at most. We keep them only to find and fix problems.
- Usage analytics: analytics (PostHog) are linked to your account ID, not your name or email. They are not removed when you delete your account, and are kept for up to 12 months. Email roycerobins95@gmail.com and we will delete the analytics linked to your account ID.
- AI providers: text previously sent to OpenAI and xAI to create your meditations is kept by them for up to 30 days to check for abuse, unless the law requires them to keep it longer.
- Emails you sent us are kept while we handle your request, and deleted within 12 months after it is resolved.
Apart from the above, we do not keep any of your data after your account is deleted.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
- One meditation: in the Library tab, tap … next to it and choose Delete, then confirm. The meditation, its intake answers, script, audio and play records are deleted straight away (copies may remain in backups for up to 7 days). A meditation that is still being created can be deleted once it is ready or has failed.
- Take a meditation off Explore: in the same menu, choose Make private. It stays in your library.
- AI permission: withdraw it in Profile > Settings > AI data & consent. Hidden creators can be unhidden in Profile > Settings > Hidden creators.
- Notifications: signing out removes your device’s notification token, and you can turn notifications off in your device settings.
If you cannot use the app, email roycerobins95@gmail.com from your account’s email address and tell us which meditation to remove.
